WVU Beats Duke!

WVU advances to the Sweet 16!
Congratulations to the Mountaineers for playing great and beating Duke yesterday 73-67. WVU got a great game from 6'2" guard Joe Mazzulla, who saw a lot of action due to a great adjustment by Coach Huggins early in the game and responded by scoring 13 points, dishing out 8 assists and pulling down 11 rebounds.
The Mountaineers got big offensive nights from Joe Alexander, who had 22 points to go with his 11 rebounds, and Alex Ruoff, who had 17 points including several big shots in the second half.
Cam Thoroughman played a lot in the second half due to foul trouble for both Da'Sean Butler and Wellington Smith, and the 6-foot-7 freshman, who had 16 rebounds all season and postponed knee surgery to stay with the team in the tournament, grabbed two consecutive boards to keep one possession alivegot 4 big points and 4 crucial rebounds.

WVU beats UCONN

In spite of everyone at ESPN saying they had no shot, WVU beat UConn in the second round of the Big East Men's Basketball Tournament today. This should lock up a berth in the NCAA tournament for the Mountaineers.

Joe Alexander was a beast and the whole team played really well on defense and rebounded well. What a change Huggins has made with virtually the same players that Beilin was unable to rebound with last year.
